Reporting to the Executive Leader, the HSE Coordinator is responsible for the leadership and management of Hardline Engineering and Firefly Power and Energy’s High Voltage health, safety and environmental program. They will interface with construction crews, engineers, contractors, as well as clients/owners and therefore must be able to communicate in an efficient manner. They will be responsible for promoting Health and Safety in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Certified as a Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or completed a recognized post-secondary Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) program;
· Minimum of five years of experience in the development and delivery of workplace safety & health initiatives and programs in an industrial construction environment;
· High voltage electrical industry experience would be an asset;
· Excellent grasp of the English language (verbal and written);
· Excellent computer skills;
· Strong interpersonal skills as there is extensive customer contact;
· Must have a valid driver’s license;
· Willingness to travel;
· Willingness to work overtime as required;
· Willingness to be On-Call;

To effectively complete the responsibilities of this position, the candidate must be able to complete the following:
· Ongoing development and implementation of HSE management system standards/policies/procedures/practices/rules;
· Monitor compliance to regulatory, project and client requirements and initiate corrective action;
· Interface with construction management, line supervisor, subcontractors, client HSE personnel and other project stakeholders on HSE;
· Train personnel on HSE regulations, responsibilities and assessments;
· Conduct periodic HSE audits/assessments;
· Administer HSE record keeping and reporting systems;
· Facilitating/conducting accident/incident investigations;
· Support ISNetworld, Avetta, Comply works and other Canadian HSE data base requirements;
· Development of site specific Safety Management Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Subcontractor Orientations and Prime Contractor requirements;
· Maintain COR certification;
· Perform new employee safety orientations;
· Manage Construction Safety Training System (CSTS);
· Management of site specific WHMIS requirements (i.e. MSDS data);
· Performs other duties as required.
