NSW Passenger Rail Operations 12-month fixed term contract Professional development opportunities About the Project: UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are looking for a HSE Coordinator to join our New Intercity Fleet (NIF) and Regional Rail project teams. This role is based at our Mariyung Maintenance Facility in Kangy Angy, Central Coast NSW. The NIF project will oversee the replacement of trains carrying customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. UGL will operate a new maintenance facility and provide maintenance and asset management services to the new fleet for 15 years. About Your Role: As a HSE Coordinator, you will support safe operations for NSW passenger rail by identifying and managing HSSE risks, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, and ensuring compliance with company policies, legislation, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Ensure safe working conditions for all staff and contractors. Report hazards, incidents, and accidents within company guidelines. Actively implement, review, and improve the HSSE management system. Partner with management to deliver localised initiatives aligned with business strategy. Inspect and audit project compliance to HSSE system requirements where required. Prepare and review HSSE documentation to ensure legislative and procedural requirements are met. Assist in managing return-to-work programs and injury management processes. Design and deploy safety culture change initiatives. About You: You are an experienced individual with relevant qualifications and a proactive approach to safety and compliance. Skills and Experience: Demonstrated capability to develop and implement safety management systems Thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, and ISO 31000 standards. Strong communication skills (oral & written), including negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
