You will provide primary care services to the site and co-ordinate and manage the site health program, including safety inspections, ergonomics training and ergonomics assessments, to drive a reduction in work and non work related injuries. You will as well undertake management of testing programs required by local legislation How you will contribute You will: Provide primary care services to the site and co-ordinate and effectively manage the site health program, including managing work related and non-work related injuries and illnesses Coordinate preventative health and wellness programs to drive a reduction in work related injuries Provide Initial emergency response, resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill or injured (trauma) patients Support the development of health related policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the site including the delivery of training where necessary Management , maintenance and administration of medical equipment and consumables in line with legal and medical standards including audit of equipment and storing, dispensing, administering and safe disposal of medicines Assess plant risk for health issues or any occupational related illness, acting upon the assessment and controlling them through proper preventive measures What you will bring A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge: Relevant qualifications in the area of Occupational Health or claims management. Qualified Doctor or Nursing practitioner Diploma or Degree qualifications in OHS/Claims & Injury Management, Workplace Ergonomics, Rehabilitation or related discipline Relevant experience in OHS (Occupational Safety and Health) Strong experience in an Injury Management & Rehabilitation role, ideally within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislative requirements More about this role The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, as well as company standards. This role focuses on preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization. What you need to know about this position: Key Responsibilities: Program Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and monitor HSE programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Develop and conduct HSE risk assessments, hazard analyses (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA), and ergonomic assessments. Establish and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, spill containment, and evacuation procedures. Compliance & Auditing: Ensure the facility operates in accordance with all relevant HSE laws, permits, and corporate guidelines. Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and walk-throughs to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. Prepare and submit required HSE reports to regulatory agencies and internal management. Manage and track corrective actions stemming from audits and inspections. Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, emergency procedures, and safe work practices. Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns, safety meetings, and communication initiatives. Incident Management: Investigate all incidents, accidents, near-misses, and environmental excursions to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate records of incidents and generate reports for analysis and trend identification. Environmental Management: Oversee waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous), ensuring proper segregation, storage, and disposal. Monitor air emissions, wastewater discharge, and other environmental impacts to ensure compliance with permits and regulations. Identify opportunities for environmental improvements, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and pollution prevention. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, operations, HR, and other departments to integrate HSE considerations into all business processes. Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and external HSE consultants. What extra ingredients you will bring: Thorough knowledge of local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and persuade employees at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in HSE. Physical ability to conduct site inspections in various environments.
