Description

Job Expectations
Build your career and Australia’s future.
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for an HSE Governance and Compliance Associate. This role will report to the Executive Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance – Safety Wellbeing and Sustainability.
A bit about your role
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality governance, risk and compliance support across People and Culture, with a particular focus on reporting and coordination. You will play a key role in preparing corporate documents, board papers and external disclosures, helping ensure nbn meets its regulatory and strategic commitments.
Your work will involve coordinating reporting logistics, drafting papers and supporting documentation, and contributing to People & Culture and Safety Wellbeing and Sustainability. You will also assist with external sustainability reporting, including climate-related disclosures and corporate planning. This role will see you working closely with a range of internal stakeholders, helping to embed governance practices and lighten the load across the Safety and Sustainability team.
A bit about you
The successful candidate is likely to come from a consulting, project coordination or administrative background, and will bring strong reporting and writing skills. You are organised and detail-oriented, with a natural ability to manage logistics and deliver work at pace. Exposure to HSE or sustainability reporting is welcomed, or a background in high risk or regulated industries will be highly regarded.
You bring a collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in contributing to governance and compliance outcomes that support nbn’s broader purpose. Your ability to communicate clearly, manage competing priorities and work across teams will help ensure reporting is timely, accurate and aligned with nbn’s broader goals.
