Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HSE Professional who also has an interest in learning and development to be based in our Melbourne Branch at Dandenong
The successful candidate will contribute to the Alspec core values by coordinating a focus on Safety and the Environment through collaboration, and drive the HSE strategy at a local level.
This role will work with the National HSE manager in delivering the HSE strategy through risk management activities and monitoring of HSE objectives in the Melbourne site.
In addition they will play a key level role in the planning and implementation of learning and development requirements and initiatives within the Branch.

Major responsibilities include;

  • Assist the Branch Manager and Operations Manager in ensuring compliance to the HSE calendar for the site, ensuring timely completion of all tasks as required.
  • Coordinating and overseeing Safety, leading activities including risk assessment, hazards identification, workplace inspection and audits, workplace training; safety committee activities, toolbox talks, incident & accident investigation, emergency incident and incident management documentation.
  • Coordination of safety audit requirements
  • Reporting of site compliance to safety requirements to the National HSE manager or other stakeholders as required.
  • Guide the health and safety committee and where necessary, assist in promoting continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all safety equipment in the sites is tested and meeting required standard.
  • Identify learning and development needs in accordance with the company’s strategic and operational plans.
  • Perform the Return-to-Work Coordinator functions for the site
  • Align training with Alspec strategic goals, policies, and practices.
