Description

About the opportunity

We are looking for an engaging, proactive HSE Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster. This role will contribute to the successful delivery of the 'Laceby Solar Farm'.

Located in northeast Victoria, the Laceby Solar Farm integrates a 60 MW AC solar generation system with 240 MWh of battery energy storage, designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power to the regional grid. Combining renewable generation and advanced storage to ensure firm, dispatchable clean energy, supporting grid stability and Australia’s energy transition.

We welcome applications from candidates based locally in the Wangaratta region, or from Melbourne, working a FIFO or DIDO 2:1 roster, Monday to Saturday (no Sundays or public holidays). Camp accommodation is provided, with LAHA for those arranging their own accommodation.

In the HSE Manager role, you will implement effective health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of a small site based HSE team.
  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities and incidents.
  • Oversee HSE compliance as the principal contractor, liaise with internal construction management teams and subcontractor management.
  • Daily interaction with the client and external stakeholders.
