The Opportunity The role will support the HSE Operations Manager in driving improvements in HSE performance through alignment and delivery of programs, and identification and management of HSE risks nationally across the Utilities O&M business. The role will require site visits across Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong and North of Melbourne. Key responsibilities: Partner with Project / Operations Management to deliver initiatives that are relevant to the project, client and/or location and drive project and business strategy. Actively promote and implement the HSE Management System in compliance with relevant HSE legislation. Deliver services largely tactical in nature with day-to-day direction determined by business needs. Develop, implement and monitor the HSE Management System, safety procedures, documentation and audit system in conjunction with the overall HSE Management System. Assist with audits conducted on HSE project compliance. Support the UGL tendering process and client engagement in relation to project reviews. Develop and monitor the HSE Key Performance Indicators. Liaise with customers, regulatory bodies responsible for HSE and ensure compliance and compatibility with their systems and processes. Work closely with the Injury Management and P&C Teams to support the implementation of return-to-work programs and procedures to ensure that all injuries are managed according to Company and legislative requirements. Monitor and review the HSE risk profile of contracts and projects to identify areas of improvement. Investigate HSE incidents and occurrences to manage corrective actions and that Company and legislative reporting protocols are maintained. Contribute to the strategic business plan in relation to identified HSE risks and issues. Maintain processes to confirm contractors / suppliers are sourced, assessed, employed, management and supervised in accordance with UGL’s HSE and procurement requirements. Degree qualified in an HSE, or equivalent Extensive experience in HSE Management in a high-risk industry, preferably Electrical Transmission and Distribution Demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems. Experience in leading incident investigations. Experience in developing and leading training and presentations to small and large groups.
