Responsibilities
  • Act as the focal point for Projects and Proposals Departments regarding HSE operational matters.
  • Implement and maintain a strong compliance culture according to internal Global Standards, all applicable regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Design, implement, and coordinate the HSE management system for UKOC Projects and Proposals.
  • Support and follow up on UKOC Projects and Proposals regarding HSE aspects (regular reviews, site visits).
  • Provide technical support on HSE matters to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Procurement, Management, and other functions.
  • Drive HSE project self-verification and oversight, reviews, gap analysis, and audits.
  • Conduct HSE assessments/inspections of project construction activities to monitor compliance with HSE requirements, including contractual commitments, UK laws and regulations, and project HSE plans.
  • Lead HSE incident investigations on UKOC projects, conduct root-cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and ensure effective execution.
  • Interface with clients and other stakeholders on Projects and Proposals HSE matters.
  • Define applicable HSE KPI’s with HSE Projects and Proposals managers.
  • Participate in and lead meetings with customers, team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them on HSE requirements and progress of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Promote and champion key initiatives to improve HSE culture and performance across UKOC Projects and Proposals.
  • Provide specific HSE training to Projects and Proposals teams.
  • Assess HSE performance of suppliers and subcontractors at prequalification and execution stages.
  • Participate in project HSE workshops such as HAZID and ENVID.
  • Engage with UK regulatory agencies, industry groups, and external partners to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends.
  • Stay informed about emerging UK HSE regulations, trends, and best practices, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure compliance and improve EHS performance.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management on EHS performance, initiatives, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee maintenance of third-party databases, safe work practices, and documents related to clients/potential clients.
  • Develop project documents such as HSE&S Management Plans, ERPs, Site HSSE Manuals, HSES Bridging Documents, and CDM Implementation Plans.
  • Support tendering processes by completing HSE questionnaires and requested documents/statistics.
  • Work with Subcontracts to prequalify potential subcontractors and review/approve subcontractor HSE programs prior to mobilisation.
  • Seek opportunities for Risk Reduction Projects to mitigate risks in various project phases.
  • Promote and participate in corporate ESG initiatives, including training and volunteering.
