Description:
We are looking for an experienced HSE Officer to join our survey team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the oil & gas or construction industries, with a strong background in HSE policy development, inspections, audits, training, and safety equipment management. UAE experience is mandatory. The HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and maintaining a high standard of safety and environmental practices on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Education: B-tech - Mechanical or Civil Background.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in the oil & gas or construction industry.
- UAE experience is compulsory – solid understanding of local regulations and industry-specific safety standards.
- Certifications:
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent safety certification.
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices in the UAE.
- Proficient in conducting HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective safety policies and procedures.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Proficient in safety equipment management and inspection protocols.

Responsibilities:
- Development of HSE Policies and Procedures:
- Develop, implement, and update HSE policies and procedures specific to survey activities in the oil & gas and construction sectors.
- Ensure that all HSE policies align with UAE regulations and international safety standards.
- Regularly review and improve safety protocols to address emerging risks and ensure compliance.
- Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Identify potential hazards and work closely with the team to implement corrective actions.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure all safety controls are in place and effective.
- Monitor and ensure that safety measures are consistently followed during survey activities.
- Training and Awareness:
- Provide training sessions and awareness programs to survey team members, ensuring they understand HSE procedures, risk mitigation strategies, and emergency protocols.
- Conduct toolbox talks and regular safety briefings to keep the team informed of safety procedures and any updates to HSE regulations.
- Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
- Report and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of safety inspections, audits, incidents, and training.
- Prepare detailed HSE reports for management, documenting compliance levels, safety performance, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all documentation related to safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions are properly filed and up-to-date.
- Safety Equipment Management:
- Ensure the proper management and maintenance of all safety equipment used by the survey team.
- Regularly inspect safety equipment (PPE, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, etc.) to ensure it is in good condition and readily available.
- Work with suppliers to ensure that equipment is properly sourced and meets required safety standards.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Monitor all survey activities to ensure they are conducted in compliance with UAE laws and regulations, as well as international safety standards.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure safety is integrated into all phases of the survey work.
- Proactively identify safety hazards and suggest improvements to reduce risks and improve operational safety.
- Emergency Response and Incident Management:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans specific to survey activities.
- Lead or coordinate emergency drills and simulations to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.
- Investigate any safety incidents or accidents, documenting findings and proposing corrective actions.
