Job Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe working environment. The role involves conducting site inspections, risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring compliance with UAE laws, client requirements, and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices on site
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations, client HSE requirements, and company policies
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training programs
Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure availability
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and root cause analysis
Maintain safety records, permits, MSDS, and inspection checklists
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors on safety matters
Ensure proper implementation of work permits (hot work, confined space, work at height, etc.)
Stop unsafe work practices and report violations immediately
Assist during emergency drills and ensure emergency preparedness plans are followed

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering or Safety Management)
NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA certification (mandatory or preferred)
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience (construction, facilities or industrial projects)
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international safety standards
Good communication and reporting skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
