JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer for Ras al Khaimah , responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Their duties include conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They also play a key role in promoting a safety culture within the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and relevant industry standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate safety information and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve safety issues, develop preventive measures, and respond to incidents effectively.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead safety initiatives, manage safety programs, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Experience: Practical experience of 2-5 year in safety management, hazard control, and conducting safety audits.
  • Education: A relevant degree or diploma in safety management or a related field.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or other relevant safety certifications are often preferred M2Y Global Academy says

Responsibilities
  • Developing and Implementing Safety Policies: Creating, implementing, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental policies that comply with UAE laws and industry standards.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments: Identifying potential hazards, evaluating risks, and recommending corrective actions to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Performing Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspecting the workplace for unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and non-compliance with safety regulations, and documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Investigating Incidents: Leading investigations into workplace incidents and near misses, determining root causes, and preparing reports with action plans for corrective measures.
  • Providing Safety Training: Delivering safety training programs, including inductions for new employees, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Maintaining records and documentation for audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations.
  • Promoting Safety Culture: Fostering a safety-conscious work environment through awareness campaigns and promoting safety best practices.
  • Environmental Protection: Monitoring waste management practices, ensuring compliance with environmental laws, and promoting sustainability initiatives.
  • Emergency Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans, including fire drills and chemical spill drills.
  • Waste Management: Managing waste disposal, energy-saving initiatives, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinating with Stakeholders: Collaborating with different departments, contractors, and regulatory bodies on HSE matters.
