QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH and OSHA etc. Approval from EGA will be preferred.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and promote a collaborative safety culture.
Responsibilities
  • Safety Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Regularly review and update safety policies to reflect changes in regulations and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Management:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Prepare and submit required safety and environmental reports to regulatory agencies and company management.
  • Training and Education:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct safety drills and exercises to ensure employees are prepared to respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Inspections and Audits:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to ensure adherence to HSE standards.
  • Identify areas of improvement and work with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
  • Incident Response and Investigation:
  • Lead the response to workplace incidents, including accidents, injuries, and environmental spills.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to determine the causes of incidents and recommend preventive measures.
  • Environmental Management:
  • Develop and implement environmental management programs to minimize the company’s environmental impact.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Safety Culture Promotion:
  • Promote a culture of safety by encouraging proactive safety behaviors and recognizing exemplary safety performance.
  • Facilitate open communication about safety concerns and suggestions for improvement among employees.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audits and inspections.
