Location: Peace River & Slave Lake, Alberta

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 per year (based on experience)

Ruel Concrete Ltd. is a growing heavy construction company specializing in paving, concrete, aggregate hauling, and site development. With operations based in Peace River and Slave Lake. We are committed to maintaining a strong safety culture while delivering high-quality work across northern Alberta. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Safety & Compliance Coordinator to lead our safety program, assist with HR onboarding, and oversee compliance, including driver logs and regulatory reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NCSO, CHSC, or relevant safety designation preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, aggregate, or transportation safety
  • Familiar with Alberta OH&S legislation, WCB protocols, and NSC driver requirements
  • Proficient with safety management systems (e.g., DATS)
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)
Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the company’s safety program, including use of DATS or similar platforms
  • Conduct toolbox talks, jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S, SCB, and NSC/driver log requirements
    -Oversee HR onboarding, including orientations, training records, and documentation
  • Monitor and audit driver logs, maintenance schedules, and ELD/HOS compliance
  • Coordinate training such as WHMIS, First Aid, TDG, and other safety certifications
  • Lead or assist with COR/SECOR audits and documentation
  • Keep accurate safety records, statistics, and reports for internal and external use
  • Work closely with supervisors to support a culture of safety and accountability
