APL Norway AS is seeking an HSE & QA Manager to join our HSE & QA Department. The successful candidate will report to the Director HSE & QA and will be appointed as HSE & QA Manager for ongoing projects, with responsibility for leading and following up internal and external HSE & QA activities as directed. This role includes supporting Project Managers, developing and maintaining project HSE & QA plans, conducting and following up internal and external audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with client requirements—both internally and across subcontractors. In addition, the position will support other APL departments with HSE & QA matters and contribute to departmental activities and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Plan and follow up internal HSE & QA activities Develop, maintain, and improve the APL Quality Management System Act as appointed HSE & QA Manager on ongoing projects in accordance with project plans Support and advise Project Managers and other departments on HSE & QA matters Plan and follow up internal and external audits Audit and review subcontractors as part of pre-qualification and re-qualification processes Conduct internal and external safety inspections Support Marketing and Tender activities as required Prepare and coordinate internal HSE & QA training Support and follow up incident and non-conformity reporting processes and systems Lead and coordinate HSE & QA activities internally and externally, ensuring timely delivery and compliance Qualification Requirements Education BSc/MSc degree preferred, or other relevant formal qualifications combined with strong relevant experience Experience Experience with HSE & QA activities within a relevant industry environment Experience from fabrication yards and an understanding of both quality and HSE challenges is desirable Skills & Competencies Knowledge of HSE & QA standards; auditor training is an advantage Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and support project delivery Comfortable working in multicultural teams Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to turn issues into practical solutions Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Every day, the oil and gas industry’s best minds put more than 150 years of experience to work to help our customers achieve lasting success.
