About the role
AGL’s HSE Systems, Reporting & Governance team have an opportunity for an HSE Risk, Governance and Assurance Advisor.
Based in Melbourne, as a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with the HSE team to support the design and delivery of strategic initiatives and projects that enhance risk management, governance, and assurance—driving meaningful and measurable improvements in HSE outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing, facilitating, and supporting HSE risk management, assurance and governance initiatives to enhance organisational capability and overall HSE performance.
  • Implementing and maintaining HSE assurance programs, including audits and compliance checks, to monitor compliance status and effectiveness of risk management activities.
  • Ensuring accurate HSE data reporting, incident investigation, and continuous improvement of processes, practices and overall HSE performance.
  • Supporting the delivery of HSE strategic initiatives and improvement projects aligned with business needs, and oversee effective change management for key initiatives.
  • Coordinating internal and Board-level HSE reporting
  • Support the incident investigation processes, ensuring continuous improvement in the process and compliance with the policy and that learnings are shared, and actions embedded across the business

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety or Environment, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • ICAM investigations lead investigator is highly desirable
  • Experience in high-risk industries
  • Experience in the development and continuous improvement of HSE Management Systems, Risk, Compliance and Governance
  • Sound awareness of ISO accreditation requirements
  • Understanding of HSE legislative frameworks across all jurisdictions and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate legal matters
