From water to wire – Be part of the movement!HSE Site Officer Starting location at RS Kerr Dam in Keota, Oklahoma Summary of the role  The SSHO is mobilised to one of our construction work sites in the US. The appointee will support our teams in ensuring a safe work environment for all. They will be working as part of a site team consisting of Site Manager, Supervisors, Quality Assurance Specialist and Administrator. The size of the team and the duration of the project assignment varies depending on the project scope. The role is a mix of site office documentation of the work and, on-the floor work to ensure full compliance with the HSE Management system.   The following responsibilities form the core of this role: Ensures fulfillment of HSE requirements at construction site, following health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plan in compliance with Company standards, customer requirements and Government regulations; Supports Site Manager for HSE management and safety instructions implementation for our workers and partners; Main local liaison with customer HSE organization and provincial/ state regulatory agencies. SSHOs are responsible for the overall safety culture on the project. These personnel are the front lines from ensuring everyone is working safely and makes it home in one piece! This role is a vital role onsite to establish and implement a safe work culture throughout the worksite. Bb PRINCIPAL DUTIES Prepares weekly and monthly statistics HSE reports; Implement and enforce Health & Safety Plan, Risk Assessments and and EM 385-1-1 (as applicable) Ensure subcontractor compliance of safety requirements. Use and maintain OSHA’s Form 300 to log work-related injuries and post Form 300A on the site safety bulletin board (US Only). Provides assistance in the implementation and update of the health, safety, and environmental plan; Provides assistance in identification of risks and definition of control measures (through safe work procedure, Job Safety Analysis); Carries out and records regular safety checks and safety inspections; Provides assistance in Tool-box talks; Coordinates safety committee (as applicable); Records and investigates accidents and incidents; performs Root Cause Analysis on HSE issues; Establish and maintain a corrective action tracking system. Coordinates health, safety, and environmental aspects of site activities; Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals and their Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). Provides introduction training and site specific health, safety, and environmental training; Coordinates required safety training on site; Coordinates First Aid rescue, First Aid responders and Fire Protection programs (as applicable); Proposes immediate correction of a HSE deficiency; checks if HSE corrections from deficiency are effective; Ensures OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 are maintained at site;  Support execution of internal audits in construction sites and facilities and coordinate external audits; Coordinates with Workers Compensation/ Insurance Broker as required; Collaborates with HSE Advisor for business update on HSE Management System. COMPETENCIES & SKILLS Experience working on Hydro powerplant construction project, USACE construction projects, with at least 5 years' experience as a Safety Supervisor with updated continued education per the EM 385-1-1. (US Only). Must have experience with government projects. (US Only). Completion of the 30-hour OSHA course – 4 years validity Additional 40 hours of training beyond the 30-hour Competent Confined space EM 385-1-1 at least 8 hours training    Competent Fall Protection EM 385 -1-1 24 hours training – and 8 hours refresher training every 2 years Competent scaffold Inspector EM 385-1-1 at least 8 hours training   OSHA course 8 hours of continued education per year for a total of 5 years.  OSHA 510, 500 and BCSP CHST, ASP or CSP desired but not mandatory. Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE management on a construction site or heavy industries. University degree in Health and Safety or equivalent Knowledge of Provincial/ State Construction Safety legislation. Experience in dealing with unionized environment Experience working on construction sites (Hydro power plant – an asset); Strong communication skills (spoken & written) at all levels of the organization. Leadership skills, Team Player following Company common Goals Proven Auditor and Trainer skills. Excellent problem-solving skills (root cause analysis expertise), sound judgment, initiative & creativity. Willingness to travel and flexible with work schedule. Responsibilities

Core duties involve preparing HSE reports, implementing safety plans like EM 385-1-1, enforcing subcontractor compliance, investigating incidents, and coordinating various site safety programs.
