Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health and Safety Specialist to join our team for a nuclear refurbishment project in Cernavoda, Romania. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating a strong safety culture of reporting all at risk conditions, behaviors and incidents with the purpose of preventing recurrence. This is a critical role that requires expertise in health and safety practices, exceptional attention to detail, and strong communication skills with partner companies on the project.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent to meet the regulatory requirements in Romania.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably within the nuclear industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices specific to nuclear projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong English; fluency of Romanian is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working on nuclear refurbishment or similar large-scale industrial projects.
  • Additional certifications in specialized safety areas (e.g., radiation safety, hazardous materials management).

  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing health and safety training to all project personnel. Ensure that all staff are knowledgeable about the latest safety procedures and best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance. Present findings to project management and recommend improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate health and safety considerations into all aspects of the project.
