Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in their assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Supports the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. Ensures effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.
This role part of the HSE site organization in Heidelberg. Main stakeholders are Production, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality and R&D.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Facilitating HSE risk assessment conducted by the line management and ensuring all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented.
  • Facilitating, assisting, and providing guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks.
  • Supporting the HSE Manager in reporting progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as required.
  • Assisting the line managers and supervisors in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE laws and group/business-specific requirements.
  • Supporting and driving behavioral change through the local implementation of groupwide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Certified ‘Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit’ acc. to ASiG
  • Completed technical vocational training or B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering studies
  • At least two years of professional experience in occupational safety
  • Fluent in English and German
