The Opportunity

As HSEQ Lead, you will lead OnSpec’s HSEQ function and play an active role in shaping a practical, proactive and people-focused safety culture.

Maintaining a visible presence across our offices, workshops, operational bases and field activities, you will work closely with leaders and employees to identify emerging risks, strengthen safe decision-making and ensure effective safety measures are embedded throughout the business.

You will also oversee OnSpec’s Integrated Management System, competency framework, assurance activities and HSEQ compliance obligations.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing visible and proactive safety leadership across office, workshop and field environments
• Coaching leaders and employees in hazard identification, risk management and effective safety conversations
• Identifying emerging HSEQ risks, including psychosocial hazards, and implementing practical improvement initiatives
• Planning and leading engaging safety meetings focused on operational risks and shared learning
• Conducting site visits, inspections, observations and risk assessments
• Maintaining HSEQ policies, standards, procedures and records
• Ensuring OnSpec’s Integrated Management System remains effective and compliant
• Overseeing competency requirements, mandatory training and training records
• Supporting incident, non-conformance and service-performance investigations
• Monitoring corrective actions through to completion and sharing lessons across the business
• Planning and conducting audits and assurance activities
• Reporting on HSEQ performance, trends, material risks and improvement priorities
• Representing OnSpec in HSEQ matters with clients, auditors and other external stakeholders
• Providing practical HSEQ input into tenders, proposals, contracts and operational planning
• Intervening in unsafe work and escalating material HSEQ risks when required
