About this Position We’re looking for a Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Manager NZ to help Acusensus embed our safety, environmental, and quality systems into every part of our operation. Reporting to the Global HSEQ Lead, you will be part of the New Zealand leadership team responsible for the ongoing management of our New Zealand operations. You’ll be a key player in ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and our Integrated Management System (IMS). A strong quality management focus to improve end to end functions. With strong involvement in incident investigations and workers’ compensation management, you’ll help drive a safety-first and quality-focused culture, you will provide advice to assist our local team in identifying and collaborating on solutions to HSEQ risks. As we continue to iterate our technology and services, you will help ensure that continuous improvement is a core characteristic of our organisation. This is a hands on role that is evolving and changing so won’t always look the same. Key Responsibilities: Manage and implement the global IMS and NZ-specific processes to ensure ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 certifications are maintained. Drive a "Safety First" culture and promote employee hazard reporting to make the process simple and accessible. Lead workplace incident investigations in NZ, ensuring "Lessons Learnt" are shared, and drive the timely closure of corrective actions. Conduct planned internal audits and workplace inspections, while ensuring all HSEQ requirements in client contracts are met. Provide regular reports on risks, performance metrics, and long-term strategic opportunities to the Global HSEQ Lead. Lead and coordinate NZ workers' compensation, injury management, and return-to-work programs. Support the Executive Team with HSEQ-related activities, reporting, and strategic advice Handle communications with the external client regarding compliance, reporting, and safety initiatives We would love you to have: At least 10 years in an HSEQ role, with 2–3 years at a senior leadership level. Diploma or higher in Safety Management and qualifications in Quality Management/Auditing (or equivalent experience). Expert knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 Standards, along with NZ HSEQ legislation. Previous experience managing NZ workers' compensation and a strong understanding of "safety in design" practices. Strong influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders. A valid Driver’s Licence and the flexibility to travel to project sites across NZ and globally as required. A demonstrable alignment to the Acusensus road safety mission.
