Description

Our client has an immediate vacancy for a HSQE Officer based in our Ballyhaunis Mayo branch office.
No two days will be the same, so your activities will vary and will be agreed with the HSQE Manager on an ongoing basis.
A highly varied, challenging role providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and presentations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • MS Office

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Certification in health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role
  • Full Irish Driving Licence
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Provide safety training and education to employees
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, and training sessions
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans
  • Attending the health, safety quality and environmental officer meetings and advising on suitable action plans
  • Completing site inductions
  • Recording and logging health, safety, quality and environmental statistics, as required
  • Promoting continued improvement in health, safety, quality and environmental performance
