POSITION SUMMARY:

To oversee the daily floor activities and functions run smoothly and that guests are treated with respect, courtesy, and the highest quality of service. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support all staff through organization, effective communication, work maintenance, and training while upholding the highest levels of standard.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years in the Food & Beverage industry is required.
  • Minimum 2 years in the Food & Beverage industry as a Supervisor is required.
  • Smart Serve certification is required.
  • Guest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personality.
  • Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving.
  • Able to positively influence other members of the F & B team by demonstrating proper work ethics, service standards, using coaching skills to effectively motivate staff thus improving guest service.
  • Pays precise attention to detail, order and cleanliness.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Possesses leadership and coaching skills is able to influence team members toward the F & B departmental goals.
  • Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require.
  • Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily labour reports, tracker approvals and manual reports completed by 10 am.
  • Daily liquor, beer and supply counts.
  • Make sure all staff report to work at scheduled shift time.
  • Ensuring all servers has appropriate standard uniform and footwear.
  • Proper signage, specials, and upcoming events are clearly written on boards in time for service.
  • Pre-shift meetings with staff, communication of upcoming and relevant information to staff members.
  • Handling of all customer complaints or concerns.
  • Training and orientation of new staff members.
  • Ensure friendly, courteous and efficient service is extended to all guests.
  • Hiring, training, supervising, developing, disciplining and counseling all food and beverage team members according to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing new staff orientation, provide initial on-the-job training with ongoing follow up to ensure service standards are met for the particular area.
  • Assists team whenever necessary, your presence on the floor during outlet hours of operation interacting with guests is a priority.
  • Ensure restaurant is set to appropriate standards and conditions during business operations (ie. cleanliness, music, stock of essential items, etc.).
  • Proper and professional handling of staff disciplinary action (progressive discipline).
  • Develop daily and weekly cleaning schedules, follow up, and manage with staff.
  • Complete the administrative functions of daily gratuities and service charges.
  • Ensuring proper floats and cash change from cash office for service.
  • Proper management of daily breaks.
  • Participating in month end inventory counts of all food and beverage.
  • Assist and support Director Restaurant Operations with all duties and responsibilities and any additional tasks as required.
  • Follows and ensures team is adhering to all appropriate regulations for Food Service, Safety & Sanitation, MSDS, Smart Serve, Health & Safety procedures, etc.
