Description

DP World is seeking a driven HSSE professional to lead and implement health, safety, security, and environmental standards across our logistics operations in NSW and QLD. Covering warehousing, hardstand operations, heavy vehicle transport, and rail, this role ensures compliance with regulatory and customer-specific HSSE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
You’ll work closely with site leaders to embed and support HSSE systems, develop assurance programs to strengthen Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety and operational performance. This role is ideal for a hands-on safety leader with logistics experience and a passion for building a strong culture of accountability and excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, and Environment (Degree or Diploma) is desirable.
  • Formal training in Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM).
  • Internal Auditor certification (highly regarded).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HSE role, ideally within logistics or warehousing.
  • Strong knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Heavy Vehicle National Law.
  • Proven experience in incident investigations, compliance audits, and risk management.
  • Proficient in HSE management systems and regulatory reporting.
  • Understanding of Rail Safety Act and Dangerous Goods legislation (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Practical, hands-on approach suited to fast-paced, operational environments.
  • High attention to detail and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice to operations management on serious and high potential incidents including regulatory notifiable incidents with the potential for litigation.
  • Provide technical advice and support to line management, to ensure that operational risks are proactively and appropriately managed.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Implement and maintain HSSE systems aligned with ISO 14001, 45001, and 28000.
  • Support audits, assurance activities, and continuous compliance monitoring.
  • Drive HSSE culture through leadership, training, and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, ensure regulatory notifications, and manage return-to-work support.
  • Analyse HSSE data and report on performance to management.
  • Facilitate and Support decarbonisation projects and environmental reporting (NGER, NPI).
  • Mentor and lead HSSE team members across NSW & QLD to achieve KPIs.
