Ko wai mātou I About us

Te Puna Ora Group is a leading regional Māori health and wellbeing provider. Established in 1991, we deliver an integrated range of services throughout the Mataatua rohe, mai Ngā Kurī-a-Whārei ki Tihirau.

We are a growing, multi-entity organisation supporting a diverse mix of kaupapa. Our entities span general medical practices, homebased support, social services, through to research and artificial intelligence. With more than 450 kaimahi, including support workers, it’s a real mixed bag of lollies, so no two days in our HR team are ever quite the same!

He aha te tūnga I About the role

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our team on a fixed-term basis to provide parental leave cover.

You will support a portfolio of entities across the Group, working closely with managers and kaimahi to provide practical and trusted HR advice. Your mahi will include recruitment, employee relations, performance matters, organisational change and general day-to-day HR support.

You will be great with people, comfortable navigating different systems and able to hit the ground running. As a kaupapa Māori organisation, we are looking for someone who can confidently work across both worlds, balancing employment legislation, policy and best practice with tikanga Māori.

Nga pūkenga me whai I Your skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you will need to manage competing priorities, build trusted relationships and provide advice that is considered, solutions-focused and mana-enhancing.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Strong generalist HR and recruitment experience
  • The ability to provide practical HR advice, coaching and support to managers and kaimahi
  • Experience supporting employee relations and performance matters
  • Some experience working with unions, although this is not essential
  • A sound understanding of employment legislation and employment-related risk
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • The ability to work across multiple entities and manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using technology and learning new systems

If this sounds like you, or you tick most of the boxes and believe you could add value, we would love to hear from you.

Nāku te rourou, nāu te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi

We are a supportive kaupapa Māori organisation committed to developing and looking after our kaimahi. Our benefits include an additional week of leave each year, instant access to leave, an attractive professional development budget and opportunities for career growth. We also offer several ways to whakapiki wairua and stay connected, including social sports, Kura Reo and other wellbeing initiatives.
