Job Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides essential administrative support to the HR department, serving as the first point of contact for staff regarding payroll, benefits, and school policies. This role ensures the smooth operation of personnel functions to support a dedicated multidisciplinary team of teachers and therapists. Key Responsibilities Onboarding: Conducting background checks and coordinating new-hire orientations for administrative, clinical, and teaching staff. Records Management: Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and update HR databases with employee status changes. Benefits Support: Acts as a liaison for benefits providers, assists with open enrollment. Administrative Coordination: Manage departmental communications, schedule interviews/meetings, and process employment applications and fingerprinting requirements. Compliance: Ensure all documentation adheres to New York State Education Standards and school policies. Requirements Required Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED required; an Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field is preferred. Experience: 2–3 years of administrative experience, ideally in an education or healthcare environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with HRIS or payroll software (e.g., Paylocity). Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, high integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in a sensitive environment.
