JOB SUMMARY:

The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and helps ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of HR functions. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and general HR support to employees and managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume review, interview scheduling, and background checks.
  • Support new hire onboarding by preparing paperwork, conducting orientation, and maintaining employee files.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (paper and digital).
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions.
  • Help track attendance, leave requests, and employee absences (FMLA, PTO, etc.).
  • Support HR staff in preparing reports, letters, and other documents.
  • Answer routine questions regarding HR policies and procedures or direct employees to the appropriate HR staff member.
  • Assist with payroll processing by gathering and verifying employee information as needed.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement activities, trainings, and events.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
