Description We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for our U.S. operations. This senior role reports directly to the Global Group Director of People and Engagement and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the U.S. President. The Director of HR will play a key role in shaping the people strategy for the U.S. business while ensuring alignment with global objectives. The role is responsible for the full scope of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. Key Responsibilities Partner with executive and business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals. Oversee day-to-day HR operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Lead programs to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Advise leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession management. Serve as primary contact with benefits providers and brokers of group health and life, workers compensation, unemployment, and retirement plans. Promote an inclusive and high-performing culture that supports employee engagement and professional growth. Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on all HR-related matters. Requirements 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR best practices. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution. Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred). SPHR certification strongly preferred This position offers an opportunity to lead the HR function for a dynamic U.S. organization within a global company, contributing directly to both business performance and employee experience. Location: This position is a hybrid work arrangement, with two days in the office required, and up to five if the candidate chooses. Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, CT, or PA and be able to commute to Bloomsbury’s New York City office.
