HR Adviser – Grow Across HR, WHS & Compliance

We can teach HR — Fair Work, contracts, awards, compliance, all of it. What we can't teach is attitude, and that's what we're really hiring for. Whether you've got a couple of years behind you, a fresh certificate, or you're moving across from another field — if you're sharp, curious and want to become a genuinely good adviser, we want to hear from you.

About WLSS

Work Life Safety Systems is a growing South Australian consultancy helping employers build safer, more compliant, better-run workplaces — across HR, Work Health and Safety, compliance and workplace systems, backed by our own HR and compliance software. We're advisers, not consultants: trained, certified and accountable for the advice we give. That's the standard we'll build you up to, through hands-on, structured training.

What you'll earn

• A strong base of $85,000–$110,000 + super, set to your experience
• Performance bonuses on top — tied to work you complete, clearances and tickets you gain, and the add-on opportunities you spot and bring in
• A clear pathway to $110,000–$130,000+ as your capability and results grow

What you'll do

Give practical HR and employee relations advice that business owners actually use — contracts, policies and documentation; performance, workplace issues, investigations and exits; Fair Work, Modern Awards and EBAs; HR and payroll compliance reviews. You'll work alongside our WHS team and help sharpen our software with real-world insight.

You won't be stuck on one workplace — the variety across industries is exactly how you get good, fast. We'll train you across all of it. You grow into the full role; you don't need to walk in with it.

Grow as we grow — from any direction

We're scaling, and we want people who scale with us. The best part: this road runs both ways, and there's more than one way in.

• Coming from HR? Grow into WHS, compliance and broader advisory work.
• Coming from a safety background? If you've got the basic WHS grounding — a White Card, a WHS qualification or site experience — and you want to grow into HR, you've already got half the picture. We'll train the rest.
• Law graduate or junior lawyer? If you've studied employment or industrial law and want to put it to work in a practical, commercial, client-facing role — rather than waiting years for a foot in the door at a firm — this is a genuine career path. You've got the technical grounding; we'll build the rest. (To be clear, this is an advisory role, not a legal practising role.)

Whichever door you come in through, your ceiling here is set by your appetite to learn, not by your years of experience.

Who we're looking for

Above everything else: the right mindset — initiative, judgment, coachability, and genuine care for doing things properly.

It helps if you have:

• Some HR, ER or employment exposure — study, a certificate, internships or a couple of years all count
• OR a basic WHS/safety grounding you want to build an HR career on top of
• OR an employment/industrial law background you want to apply in the real world
• Experience in or around small business, so you get how owners actually think
• Clear, confident writing and sharp attention to detail
• Genuine interest in HR, WHS, compliance and how workplaces run

You do NOT need years of experience, a WHS background, or every award memorised. Bring the attitude and the foundations — we'll build the rest.
