HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

The responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist are as follows:

  • Recruitment is the primary responsibility and function of the HR Generalist. The incumbent will be responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of all open roles within the company.
  • The HR Generalist should be an expert in online hiring platforms, to source ideal and hard to find candidates and skill sets.
  • Using Social Media platforms to seek out unique skill sets and integrate with Marketing to coordinate Community Involvement and promote the AOR brand.
  • Experience recruiting skills such as heavy equipment operators, mechanics and truck drivers is an asset.
  • Participates in Chamber of Commerce and other social events to aid in recruitment and network for businesses in the Barrie and surrounding areas.
  • Conducts exit interviews with employees who voluntarily leave the organization and compiles reports.
  • Facilitate performance improvement programs including progressive discipline where necessary. This may also require investigation meetings and terminations when required.
  • Liaises with Payroll regarding hires, wage/salary increases, terminations, payroll deductions, records of employment, benefit premium monitoring, garnishees, and changes in employee status, vacations, leaves of absence, sick days, etc.
  • Consults with management on practices to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees and that the company is following all relevant legislation and the companies’ policies and procedures.
  • Travel is required between all AOR facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and employee relations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in project management and change management
  • Proficient in data entry and HR sourcing techniques
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
