Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Human Resources Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt -12 month position
Salary Grade: 9B ($22.83-$26.83-$30.81)/hr.

SUMMARY
Provides various Human Resource functions by performing the following duties:

Staffing
- Administers the selection process for the following:
- Full/part-time Positions
- Teachers
- Work Incentive Program
- Sub/Temp List
- Recruits, interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions. Collaborates with Directors and Supervisors to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Works closely with hiring supervisors by screening applications, scheduling interviews, developing interview questions, participating in interviews, and sending correspondences to all applicants.
- Performs pre-employment checks (criminal, state, and national background checks and social security trace) on applicants for employment.
- Reviews all criminal background checks and meets with HR Director on background checks with an “Alert” status.
- Ensures all new hires have completed the Safe Environment on-line training before starting work.
- Compiles files for all new hires and assures that all required documents are on file prior to starting employment. Files and maintains pre-employment records.
- Schedules and attends local job fairs. Prepares recruiting materials to be shipped or sent with St Labre employees to job fairs.
- Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors referring complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Coordinates the Internal/External Job Opportunity program.
- Performs external recruiting duties by writing, and placing job advertisements in media. Keep up to date with employment trends and to include Social Media.
- Develops and maintains a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates such as the Tribal Employment Rights Office and local job services.
- Updates the sub/temp list by running Hours Worked Reports and checks with supervisors to ensure sub/temp list is accurate on a monthly basis.
- Reviews, tracks and documents employee trainings, continuing education and work assessments. This may include anti-harassment trainings, safety trainings, professional licensures and certifications.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Conducts exit interviews or mails out exit packets to departing staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business (B. S.) or a related field or equivalent experience
2. At least two years related experience

- Extensive knowledge of computer software to include Google Chrome, TrakStar Hire.
