Description

Our client is a well-established Tier 2 construction builder based in Paddington, Sydney, with a strong track record of delivering quality projects across the construction sector.

They are seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the HR function and provide strategic and hands-on support across the business. This is a key role for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and operational teams within a fast-paced construction environment.


The Role

As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle while providing trusted HR and IR advice across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing industrial relations (IR) and employee relations (ER) matters, including Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, performance, grievances and disciplinary processes
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
  • Providing practical HR advice and guidance to senior leadership, project teams and employees
  • Supporting workforce planning and organisational development
  • Managing performance management and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, employment legislation and relevant industry requirements
  • Reviewing and improving HR processes, systems and practices
  • Supporting remuneration reviews, employment contracts and workforce changes
  • Partnering with operational teams across the business to address people-related matters


Requirements:

  • 8–10 years of HR experience, with strong generalist HR exposure
  • Previous experience working within the construction, building, engineering or related industry
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience across IR and ER
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
  • Commercially minded with strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
