EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in an HR and/or administrative support role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience recruiting for engineering or technical positions is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Experience with payroll or accounting systems is an asset.
  • Must be authorized to work in the Canada without needing sponsorship at time of hiring or in the future.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION AND MAIN ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Tyne Engineering is looking for a full-time, in-house Human Resources Generalist to support recruitment, onboarding, and a wide range of administrative functions. While recruitment and orientation will be a key focus, the successful candidate will also provide broader support across HR and administration, including events, payroll coordination, filing, scheduling, and accounting support.
This role is well suited to someone organized, adaptable, and proactive, who thrives in a varied role with both structured tasks and evolving needs. You’ll work closely with technical, project, and management teams to support smooth operations and positive employee experiences. Preference will be given to candidates with experience recruiting technical roles, particularly engineers.

THE HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Managing the full-cycle recruitment process: job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and offer letters.
  • Coordinating new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth start for all employees.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation.
  • Supporting employee lifecycle processes such as promotions, departures, and contract amendments.
  • Assisting with internal HR policies, compliance tracking, and documentation updates.
  • Serving as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and general inquiries.
  • Supporting company events and employee engagement activities.
  • Assisting in payroll coordination and basic accounting support (e.g., timesheet tracking, invoice review).
  • Handling administrative duties such as scheduling, filing, document management, and internal communications.
  • Collaborating with managers across departments to support day-to-day operations and special projects.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in HR and administrative systems and processes.
