We are currently seeking a Human Resources & Operations Manager to join our leadership team. This is a dynamic and impactful role ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources & Operations Manager will oversee and support a range of HR, facility, compliance, and budgeting functions across all Curious Caterpillars locations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will work closely with centre supervisors and directors to ensure smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and thoughtful organizational growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR and operations experience, preferably in childcare, education, or nonprofit sectors
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and childcare regulations
  • Experience with payroll and budget oversight
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different sites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative and solution-oriented approach
Responsibilities
  • Manage employment contracts and ensure documentation is current and compliant
  • Conduct regular spot checks of employee files (e.g., PRC, medical records)
  • Oversee payroll processing for input accuracy and bi-weekly budget alignment
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and HR budget planning
  • Advise and support supervisors on tier 2 employee relations issues
  • Guide hiring, recruitment, and onboarding practices
  • Oversee termination processes in coordination with supervisors
