QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in a variety of human resource activities including recruitment, payroll and HR administration; graduation with a university degree with major course work in human resource management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. In addition to excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong focus on results, the position requires experience in creating job advertisements, interpretation/application of Collective Agreement and HR policies, chairing recruitment selection committees and supporting labour relations issues. A commitment to a collaborative team approach, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects is required. Knowledge of, and experience with, Banner HR, Banner Finance, Banner Student, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with university policies and procedures including collective agreement administration would be an asset.
SALARY $59,901 - $70,273 per annum (Non-Bargaining)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources for the Faculty of Medicine and working collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Office, and client departments, the Human Resources (HR) Administrator will participate in a variety of human resource activities in the areas of recruitment, issues management, payroll, student employment, and HR records maintenance. Duties include reviewing requests to hire; drafting job ads; processing changes in employment and/or salary status; reviewing requests for temporary assignments, contract extensions, and other employment documents; participating on recruitment selection committees; analyzing recruitment recommendations; assisting in the coordination of tasks and workflow, staff supervision; and salary administration; ensuring Human Resources policies and standards, including Collective Agreements, are applied; researching and compiling information; responding to general inquiries; assisting with special project work; and performing other related duties as required.
