DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Five (5) years of Human Resources Generalist experience, including with experience working in remote sites with limited access to resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assists Supervisors, Superintendents and Managers, in coaching employees, providing constructive feedback on performance, attendance and/or behavioral concerns, and the preparation of guidance memoranda or Letters of Expectations (LoE) where appropriate.
  • Review employee relations matters that exceed the regular and customary management thresholds, conduct a preliminary assessment to determine if an investigation is warranted.
  • Guide Supervisors, Superintendents, and Managers through the required due diligence when exercising discipline—whether following unsuccessful coaching and expectation setting, or in situations where disciplinary action is warranted as a first response.
  • Serve as the onsite HR representative, maintaining visibility, attending meetings and events, addressing employee concerns proactively, and escalating issues to senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Maintain and update manual and computerized files, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), registration systems, and the compiling and preparation of reports and documents relating to Human Resources activities.
  • Foster employee growth and engagement by supporting career development and performance management, organizing team-building events, and actively participating in training, learning opportunities, and HR initiatives.
  • Be available to promptly address sensitive employee matters, escalating to the appropriate authority when required.
