REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field. Must be working towards Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CHPR) designation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in current Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English. If English is not your first language further documents will be required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated good organizational/workload management skills
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and flexibility to travel on occasion to attend continuing education, events and/or meetings
  • Candidate will have to demonstrate current immunization and/or boosters by the end of the probationary period
Responsibilities

We are accepting applications for a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) position of Human Resources/Benefits Coordinator. The Home Base Site is the Provincial Office, located in the Park Lane Terraces in Halifax.
Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the Human Resources/Benefits Coordinator role is responsible for day-to-day HR/Benefits transactions, including full cycle recruitment assistance, onboarding/offboarding processes, support performance management documentation, leave management, and responding to staff questions. This role will also include project work to identify HR system gaps related to data, record retention, preparing reports, and other HR project work as required. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with other members of the administrative team, finance and operations staff, external benefits providers, and clinical managers. This position requires the incumbent to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity due to its access to confidential information.
