Purpose of Role: As a Human Resources Assistant, you will provide administrative and clerical support to Human Resources in accordance with CDA Personnel Policies and applicable labor laws and regulations Who We’re Looking For: Strong communicator with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and tact Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stay on top of priorities Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to quickly learn new systems, including HRIS platforms Positive and collaborative, with the ability to build strong working relationships with employees and managers Approachable and professional, representing the organization well when interacting with applicants and staff Responsive and service-oriented, providing timely and helpful support Position Requirements: Associate’s degree in related field with one to two years of clerical and administrative experience, preferably in the human resources field; or equivalent amount of experience and education that demonstrates knowledge, skill and ability. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. Summary of Responsibilities: Respond timely and routinely to the human resources email and voicemail inbox; route messages to the appropriate staff for response or follow-up. Process a variety of action requests; update human resource database system with data, information or updates; request appropriate personnel to update information or documents, such as telecommuting agreements to ensure up-to-date information is maintained. Process reward and recognition requests from supervisors; maintain gift card inventory and tracking log to record expenses; generate certificates as needed. Support recruitment activities by assisting with the coordination of interviews, preparing candidate communication, assisting with pre-employment testing, and maintaining recruitment tracking records. Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding by preparing orientation materials, scheduling meetings, and providing general information regarding policies and benefits as needed. Support recruitment, hiring and background check process by preparing documentation, tracking tatus, and following up on required verifications to ensure the process is complete. Assist with workers’ compensation administration by organizing claim documentation, updating tracking logs, and routing information to appropriate HR staff. Assist with the coordination of special events such as the picnic, annual conference, and holiday celebration; maintain tracking spreadsheet for expenses. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Maintain accurate records and complete various other tasks, assignments, projects, reports, as needed. Participate in on-site and off-site learning opportunities such as workshops, conferences, staff meetings and trainings. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday—Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, may require evening and weekend hours based on the needs of the department.
