Description
Clay County is seeking a detail-oriented and highly professional Human Resources Specialist to provide essential administrative and clerical support to our Human Resources Department. This role operates in a highly confidential capacity, performing work of moderate difficulty within public sector human resources, payroll, benefits administration, wellness, and risk management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver dedicated to providing exemplary customer service to our employees while maintaining the highest standards of integrity. Primary Responsibilities * Create, compose, and edit complex correspondence, memoranda, charts, and reports; ensure all materials are accurate and complete. * Serve as the first point of contact for the HR Department, managing phone inquiries and greeting guests with professionalism. * Provide guidance to new and existing employees regarding HR questions and concerns. * Plan and execute health-related activities, including health screenings, nutrition programs, seminars, and annual health fairs. * Develop initiatives to improve employee mental, emotional, and physical health, prioritizing overall wellness and ROI. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Exceptional written and oral communication skills; ability to speak, read, and understand English fluently. * Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, SurveyMonkey, Canva and database management. * Demonstrated empathy, initiative, and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and work independently without direct supervision. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound business decisions. Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by specialized coursework in office practices, accounting, or bookkeeping. * 1–3 years of increasingly responsible experience in Human Resources or a related field. * A reputation for honesty and trustworthiness; must pass a background check  * Valid state driver’s license. Desired Qualifications * Prior experience in public sector employment or government HR. * Proficiency with ADP software.
