QUALIFICATIONS

YOU MAY QUALIFY AT THE GS-07 LEVEL, IF YOU FULFILL THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Utilizing a human resources (HR) information system to code and process personnel actions; 2) Responding to customer inquiries concerning human resources related issues; 3) Utilizing office automation software applications to compose a variety of documents and forms; and, 4) Maintaining hard copy and electronic files.
YOU MAY QUALIFY AT THE GS-08 LEVEL, IF YOU FULFILL THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in: 1) Researching and applying HR rules, regulations and/or policies; 2) Composing job offer letters; 3) Analyzing data; and, 4) Utilizing a human resources (HR) information system to code and process personnel actions including corrective actions.

One position will be filled in the Employee Benefits Unit (HRSE) and one position will be filled in the Special Agent Staffing Unit (HRAS).
As a Human Resources Assistant (OA), your typical work assignments may include:
- Performing specialized human resources duties involving a wide variety of problems or situations.
- Reviewing, coding and processing a full range of personnel actions including those of a novel or unusual nature.
- Providing information to customers on human resources topics such as benefits, pay, leave, personnel records, applying for federal employment, hiring procedures, and announcements.
- Assisting HR Specialist with identifying proper documentation to ensure the electronic recruitment/staffing files are current and complete during the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Using HR systems to enter, update, maintain, retrieve and track a variety of personnel transactions, information and reports.
