JOB DESCRIPTION

People’s Alliance Federal Credit Union is looking for a Human Resources Assistant in our main branch located in Hauppauge, NY. Are you a people person looking for a permanent position to grow within the organization? If so this position may be right for you. This is a full time position, hours Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30. Qualified candidate should possess knowledge and experience in the Human Resources field. Confidentiality will be maintained for all personal employee information to include, personnel issues, employee payroll and time and attendance, recruiting to include; scheduling interviews, background checks, onboarding of new hires, health insurance open enrollment, NYS DOL quarterly reports, 401K open enrollment, clerical duties to include: filing, faxing, emailing, enrollment applications, warning letters, time off requests, work with our vendors for benefits, claims, FMLA, STD/NY PFL paperwork, and other tasks as assigned. Report directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Must be a multi-tasker, employee relations, attend HR related seminars to increase knowledge of laws and compliance. Attention to detail a must.
Education: College to include HR studies or Human relations, Psychology Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities
  • Payroll, attendance tracking, time off requests
  • Discipline, warning letters, filing
  • Recruiting, review resumes, post job openings, schedule interviews and sit in on interviews
  • New hire implementation to include: background checks, schedule training classes, prepare new hire packets with benefits, personnel policy manuals, all enrollment applications
  • Assist training manager with onboarding of new hires, training day one, review manuals, benefits and company procedures
  • Add new hires to system, payroll, time clock all applicable spreadsheets, forward all completed enrollment forms within the 30 day eligibility time frame
  • Assist with employee checkout and terminations
  • DOL quarterly reports, EEO-1, Affirmative Action tracking
  • 401K open enrollment
  • Other tasks as assigned
