  • 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google programs.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, ADP is an asset.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a G class drivers license.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Assistant will support the day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, health and safety, payroll, record-keeping, offboarding and employee support. This position requires someone who is detail oriented, organized, approachable, and eager to contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate job postings, screen resumes, conduct phone screens, schedule and conduct interviews.
  • Write and prepare job offers, extend offers to successful candidates, and coordinate onboarding before and after the successful candidate’s start date.
  • Conduct weekly payroll cycles, coordinate with each location regarding payroll reports, time off requests, and timecards. Responsible for benefit enrollment, changes, and questions.
  • Organize and coordinate the Joint Health and Safety Committee, coordinate and prepare monthly health and safety inspections, meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and post all health and safety related records.
  • Ensure all employees are compliant with the mandatory training supplied, and that all records are kept up to date. Responsible for booking all training with a third party company when required.
  • Maintain and update personnel files, employee records, and ensure all employee documentation is up to date.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general HR related questions.
