HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and within established policies, procedures, and guidelines will provide confidential, comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources team, acting as the front-line contact for employee services and ensuring the smooth processing of HR transactions. This role is focused on administration, records management, onboarding, recruitment and policy and procedure review.
Niagara Parks offers a salary of $51,447.19 to $61,530.07 per annum for this position as well as a comprehensive benefit and defined benefit pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post Secondary Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management with experience working in a Human Resources department and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Possess strong planning, organization and multi-tasking abilities and will proactively take the initiative for all related administrative duties for the leaders.
  • The candidate will interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders and will be required to uphold the highest standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Office, ADP and Parklane.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Human Resources administration.
  • Experience with tracking invoices and costs as it relates to Human Resources projects, budgets and procurements.
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a complex fast-paced environment with strong organizational management and record keeping skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio; experience with ADP an asset; Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Excellent organization skills including attention to detail; knowledge and experience with workflow processes/mapping; ability to manage multiple competing demands.
  • Knowledgeable and up to date on relevant legislation and research skills.
