    This is a full-time position located at our main cultivation and dispensary location in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in the heart of the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

Overall administrative support for the Human Resource functions for Berkshire Roots including the opportunity to participate in a wide range of HR activities. Tasks include payroll processing, benefits administration, recruiting, compliance management and culture development in a growth-stage company.
The perfect candidate will have the ability to track and organize multiple projects happening during the same timeframe. An equal combination of a professional, friendly and positive approach is key for success.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll through an outside payroll provider. Create and send reports from queries in the system
  • Enter and update all employee information in the HRIS as well as updating personnel files. Ensure that all proper forms and documentation are completed and in the files.
  • Place recruitment advertisements and web postings. Track incoming resumes to determine successful posting sources.
  • Schedule new hire orientation meetings, requesting IT set ups and completion of new hire paperwork including agent badging through the CCC.
  • Write and send monthly updates regarding new employees, anniversaries and company updates.
  • Assist in planning and preparing for company events and/or meetings including normal internal meetings, employee application lunches and wellness initiatives.
  • Assist at Job Fairs as needed. Prepare materials for it.
  • Prepare and track benefit enrollment packages for newly eligible employees on a monthly basis. Ensure that all employees file an enrollment or declination form in a timely manner.
  • Administrative support to update company policies and employee handbook as per Human Resources Director.
  • Assist with yearly license renewal as guided by the Director of HR.
  • Support the administrative functions of workers compensation claims, including approving medical billing.
  • Assist with special projects throughout the company as time permits.
    Key Relationships: Director of Human Resources, CEO, and Department Heads. You will be a primary contact for all associates’ benefits and personnel data support needs.
