JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for human resources activities related to employee recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, terminations, coordinating professional development and training, and facilitating succession planning.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of HR experience or more is preferred, however new graduates can apply.
  • Training or degree in Human Resources.
  • Experience and proficiency in responsibilities listed above.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Manitoba HR laws and policies is ideal, and a willingness to learn about US HR laws and policies.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication.
  • Can work independently, and has a positive, business-minded personality.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the recruiting and interviewing processes and the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees.
  • Assist in defining job requirements, drafting job descriptions and assessing candidates.
  • Ensure accuracy of personnel files and documentation.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and lead the selection or development of appropriate programs and monitoring of their success.
  • Update and maintain Medicure’s Employee Manual.
  • Draft letters, documents and memo’s based on Manitoba HR laws.
  • Learn US HR laws in specific states for managing HR responsibilities for US staff, as required.
  • Maintain compensation tables and the organizational chart.
  • Facilitate succession planning in consultation with management.
  • Performing other duties as assigned/required.
