This position is primarily responsible for the management of employee benefits, including review and reconciliation of all benefits expenses for OSSU and member district employees, liaising with benefit vendors, and providing general support to Human Resources and Payroll functions within the Business Office. This is an hourly-paid position with full benefits and generous time off. Essential Functions: -Serve as primary point of contact for benefit providers-Process and reconcile benefit-related liability invoices and accounts.-Process and reconcile background check payments-Perform regular audits of benefits accounts-Provide support with payroll functions and reporting-Track allowed expenditures against employee benefit caps-Maintain benefits and enrollment documentation and provide backup for Human Resources Department-Maintain master deductions in accounting software-Support and assist Human Resources Manager with the configuration and roll out of annual staff contracts and any other mass document dissemination such as 1095-HC forms-Participate in department, office, and Supervisory Union meetings, as necessary, and attend seminars and trainings, as required.-Support the value of education and the philosophy and mission of the Districts and Supervisory Union-Assist with management of the general ledger to ensure that benefit transactions are posted consistently, accurately and follow appropriate accounting practices-Assist with preparation for annual independent financial audits-Adhere to all of the Supervisory Unions policies and procedures-Perform tasks and other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of FinanceThe ideal candidate will have the following skills: -Excellent project management skills-Excellent organizational skills-Strong command over written and verbal communication-Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills-Good understanding of the organization’s overall business and its objectives-Ability to work within a team and provide support to others-Ability to perform in a cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities-Experience with basic financial management skills, including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting-Strong ability to work under pressure or a deadline-Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with impeccable attention to detail-Proficiency using computers with demonstrated related knowledge of software programs such as Excel and internet-based application
