ACDS is a growing organization dedicated to providing lifetime resources and services of exceptional quality for children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism, and other developmental disabilities. As we expand our Pelham preschool site, we are seeking a dynamic and creative Human Resources professional to join our team at a pivotal moment in our agency’s growth.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will play a key role in developing and executing HR strategies that align with ACDS’s mission, vision, and values. Based at our Pelham preschool site, the HRBP will serve as a strategic partner to site leadership, providing comprehensive HR support across employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and staff development. This role is ideal for a proactive and collaborative HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience; prior HRBP experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Ability to analyze HR data and apply insights to improve operations.
  • Experience in education, nonprofit, or service-oriented environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

As the Human Resources Business Partner at ACDS Pelham, you will play a central role in supporting the school’s leadership and staff through strategic and operational HR functions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with site leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals, foster a positive work culture, and support employee engagement and retention.
  • Employee Relations & Coaching: Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns. Act as a trusted advisor to ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating smooth onboarding experiences for new hires.
  • Training & Development: Assist in the design and delivery of professional development programs, orientation processes, and ongoing training initiatives to enhance employee skills and support career growth.
  • HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal policies. Maintain accurate employee records and uphold data integrity within HR systems.
  • Benefits & Payroll Support: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to compensation, benefits, and payroll, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Employee Engagement: Support the planning and execution of site-specific engagement activities and events that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze HR data and site-specific metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making, and recommend improvements to HR processes.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Draft and distribute internal HR communications, and work closely with HR colleagues and site leadership to address employee concerns and implement effective solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on HR best practices and industry trends, contributing to the evolution of HR processes and the overall employee experience at ACDS.
