QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4+ years experience as a HR Generalist or HRBP preferably in fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations in Ontario and Canada.
  • Proven track record of successful recruitment, sourcing, and placement of new hourly and salaried hires.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing HR projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Experience managing WSIB claims
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive HR decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, fluency in French is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding in OHSA is an asset.
  • CHRP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute HR plans and programs that align with the business goals of GoodLeaf Farms and corporate People strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to the management team of the Guelph Farm on all People (HR) matters, including employee relations, performance management, conduct investigations and talent development.
  • Manage the recruitment process for Guelph Farm, including creating job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Provide onboarding and orientation to new team members, ensuring they have a positive impression of GoodLeaf Farms, are introduced to the larger team, are integrated into their role and the culture, and receive the necessary training and tools to succeed and work independently in their role.
  • Manage disability claims (WSIB) and advise management on next steps.
  • Administer and manage the team member benefit programs.
  • Work with the larger HR Team to help develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with labour laws and regulations.
  • Lead the performance management process in the Guelph Farm, including coaching hiring managers on conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and identifying development opportunities.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary action.
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives, including employee surveys, recognition programs, and events.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and develop and maintain a safe working environment and participates by being a member on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Ensure time and attendance matters are address to ensure payroll is processed on time.
  • Manage and support other HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
