POSITION SUMMARY: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) supports plant leadership and employees by aligning HR practices with business strategy, driving talent initiatives, and ensuring compliance. This role functions as both a consultant to management and an advocate for employees, focusing on workforce engagement, labor relations, change management, and the delivery of core HR processes in fast-paced manufacturing environments. \n ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary HR partner to plant managers, supervisors, and employees to support a healthy work culture and business performance. Provide day-to-day HR guidance: resolving employee relations issues, coaching leaders, conducting investigations, and managing performance and/or disciplinary actions. Lead and implement company-wide HR initiatives such as manager training, employee engagement, onboarding, change management, and career development programs. Collaborate with managers to identify talent needs for recruitment, succession, and retention; assist with full-cycle recruiting and new-hire onboarding as needed. Partner with the legal and safety functions to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and manufacturing industry regulations. Analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement) to identify trends and recommend improvements. Drive plant workforce planning, organizational development, and change initiatives by advising on restructures and process optimization. Facilitate labor relations strategy (where applicable): partnering with union representatives, preparing for negotiations, handling grievances, and supporting positive labor-management relations. Support HRIS data accuracy, policy interpretation, and standardization of processes across multiple sites as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; advanced HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred. 3+ years of HR experience in manufacturing, ideally in CPG or food & beverage production environments. Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and labor relations in a plant/manufacturing context. Demonstrated ability to influence managers, lead projects, and work effectively in highly matrixed or unionized environment. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Customer service-oriented with excellent communication (both verbal and written) and good listening skills. Ability to establish and build key relationships to collaborate and work effectively at all levels. Solid understanding of the workings of HR and great sense of business acumen. Produces accurate work, with attention to details; a sense of urgency; and ability to handle multiple priorities. Proficient with computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for extended periods, often during meetings or computer work. Maintains regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work longer hours, including nights and weekends as needed. Standing and walking during work, meetings, events, presentations, or while on plant visits. Regular use of hands/fingers to operate computers, telephones, and standard office equipment. Close visual acuity for analyzing data, viewing a computer screen, and preparing presentations/ reports. Hearing and speaking clearly in person, over the phone, and when giving presentations. Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (such as product, promotional items, or equipment) up to 25 pounds. Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching when handling files or work materials. May be required to travel via airplane, automobile, or other modes of transportation to execute job duties.
