The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Human Resource Business Partner who is highly self-motivated and business-savvy? Are you passionate about making an organizational impact as it pertains to people and culture?
We are looking for a confident, business-oriented HR Business Partner to join us in our fast-paced environment! This person must value achieving results while supporting our various departments to achieve business objectives.

Our head office in Burnaby is centrally located in the Willingdon Business Park. This location is easily accessible by the Gilmore sky train station with many shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby.
The Responsibilities
As a HR professional, you’ll be the main point of contact for managers. This role reports to the VP, Human Resources; You will be the first point of contact for employees and managers seeking support. This well-rounded role involves many areas of HR such as:
Engage in succession planning and support organizational development
Recruiting for designated business groups and collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team on all recruitment-related matters
Works closely with payroll, compensation, and benefits
Engages with the business to work on performance management
Partake in HR policy implementation
Partner with Operations, HR, Talent Acquisition, and L&D to develop and implement solutions to respond to challenges facing the business unit
Ensure proper support in all steps of the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding
Investigate and respond to all employee concerns and take steps to resolve issues through independent and creative problem-solving solutions
Support the development of career-pathing initiatives
Change management within the context of developing and implementing people programs, policies, and processes
The Requirements
5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of BC Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Legislation
High degree of computer literacy - proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Teams
Ability to stay organized and work with urgency in a fast-paced environment
Client-service focused with an exceptional ability to execute of business goals while treating everyone with respect and dignity
A reliable team player with high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
General understanding of the administration of payroll and benefits

ASSET EXPERIENCE THAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

CPHR is an asset but not required
Experience using Workday
Insurance industry experience/knowledge

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
