MULTISTATE HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Position Type & Travel: This is a full-time, remote position. Up to 15-20% travel may be required, including overnight and out of state travel.

OVERVIEW:

Innovative Renal Care (IRC) is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our growing multistate healthcare organization. In this fully remote role, you will act as a strategic partner to leaders across the country – driving employee engagement, navigating complex employee relations matters, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Previous multistate healthcare experience is preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • 5-7 years of HR experience is required, with a strong focus on employee relations and multistate HR compliance.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge or employment laws and best practices across multiple states is required.
  • Experience working in a consultative, strategic HR environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • HRIS experience preferred (Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar systems).
  • Ability to work standard business hours across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, and compliance with HR policies.
  • Interpret HR policies and employment laws across multiple states; ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and state-specific regulations.
  • Manage full-cycle leave administration (FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, state-specific leaves); determine eligibility and guide managers through next steps.
  • Support a positive, inclusive workplace culture by driving employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, HR strategy, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on employment law updates and best practices to proactively address HR compliance.
  • Partner with HR leadership to identify training needs and help develop and deliver programs.
  • Assist with unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, investigations, and other HR functions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS and manage HR documentation and reporting.
